Scheinbar keine ernstzunehmende Organisation. 100 Milliarden Dollar. Wie hoch sind demgegenüber die Kosten für den Sozialstaat, wieviel Steuern werden durch die sehr viel größere Anzahl an illegalen Arbeitern, die schwarz arbeiten, nicht bezahlt? Wieviele Jobs, die besser bezahlt würden und normale Rechte für Arbeitnehmer enthalten, fallen hier durch weg?
Massenweise illegale Beschäftigung dadurch zu rechtfertigen, dass auch ein paar davon Steuern zahlen, ist next level libtard.

Meine jüngste Tochter hat letztens für den Englischunterricht eine Arbeit über das Thema Migration from Latin-America to the U.S. verfasst. Eine gute Arbeit, die sich einerseits generell mit der aus vielen Gründen äußerst komplexen Migrationsproblematik auseinandergesetzt hat. Und andererseits detailliert die gängigsten antimigration- Argumente geprüft hat, u.a. auf Grundlage einer Publikation des Cato Instituts, einer Einrichtung also, die ‚small government' fordert und aus libertären Überzeugungen heraus aufgebaut wurde. Von den 14 gängigsten Argumenten wurden die allermeisten als Blödsinn geoutet, und zwar vom Cato Institut. Hier mal die 5 wichtigsten Beispiele:

1. Argument
“Immigrants will take American jobs, lower
our wages, and especially hurt the poor.”

Rebutted, because: Immigrants are usually going to places in the U.S. where
they can find good job opportunities. When they earn money, they will also spend it. With this money the economy grows, and this will create more jobs.
• Immigrants likely compete most directly against other immigrants so the effects on less-skilled native-born Americans are very small.

2. Argument
“Immigrants abuse the welfare state.”
Rebutted, because:
Most legal immigrants do not have access to broad welfare for their first five years.
• Illegal immigrants don’t have access at all—except for emergency Medicaid.
• Immigrants are even less likely to use welfare benefits than similar native-born Americans. When they do use welfare,
the dollar value of benefits consumed is smaller.
• Immigrants also make large net contributions to Medicare
and Social Security. Far from draining the welfare state, immigrants have made important contributions to the
welfare system.

Argument 3:
“Today’s immigrants don’t assimilate like
immigrants from previous waves did.”

Rebutted, beause:
• It’s the opposite: Large amount of research indicates today’s immigrants are assimilating as well as or better than
previous immigrant groups— including Mexicans.
• Basic indicators of assimilation, from naturalization to English ability, are if anything stronger now than they were a
century ago.

Argument 4:
“Immigrants are a major source of crime.”

Rebutted, because:
• This myth has been around for a long time – and was never true: not during the waves of 1896, 1909, 1931, 1994, and not more recently.
• Government researchers found that illegal immigrants are much less likely to be incarcerated than native-born
Americans, but more likely than legal immigrants.

Argument 5:
“Immigrants bring with them their bad cultures, ideas, or other factors that will undermine and destroy our economic
and political institutions.”
Discussible, because •
Nowrasteh considers this the most intelligent anti-immigration argument and the one most likely to be partially correct .
• When too many immigrants with too many bad ideas settle in one specific place, the assimilation process becomes
difficult.
• But the author also expresses that immigrants change to fit
into the existing order rather than vice versa.
• And that those who decide to come to the U.S. mostly admire American institutions or have opinions on policies
that are very similar to those of native-born Americans.
